About
WYT aims to provide a stimulating activity, outside of school, to children and teenagers in the local area. We want to help them to develop positive self-image and confident communication skills, explore new roles and challenge students’ perceptions about their world and about themselves. At the same time we want the members to have fun, spend time with their peers acting, singing, dancing and performing as well as involve the local community making Woolavington and Puriton proud of their young people.

Heidi Tiyar
Heidi Tiyar, a mum, a teacher and a director at WYT.She has been in education for 17 years and assisted on numerous Year 6 productions alongside her very own career in dance, and stage performances. She is passionate about children learning through a range of diverse approaches and believes in the positive impact drama has upon individuals self esteem and well-being.Her stage days are limited now to the odd occasion at WYT when lead roles are not available or her children include her in their dramas. She looks forward to the future productions of WYT.

Melissa Hocking-Carter
Melissa, a mum to 3 wonderful, yet crazy children; Elysia, Reuben and Brooke. She is a nurse working in a doctors surgery which she loves and is also developing her mentoring lead as training lead within the practice. Since early childhood she has always had a passion for music, playing in a variety of different instruments and loves to sing. Mel has also been told that she has, what they call; a musical ear. Listening to music, watching performances and singing will always be a favourite pastime. Her eldest joined WYT early on and has had such joy at being apart of such a group so it wasn't long before she and her other two children joined. Her hope is to offer the children a great experience of being apart of something magical at WYT and help promote lots of hidden talents.
